Position Title: Human Resources Generalist (Onsite)
Location: Columbia SC
Reports To: Manager, Human Resources
Department: Human Resources
Exempt/Nonexempt Status: Exempt
Job Description: Serves as internal business partner for designated departments to provide ongoing support in all functional areas of Human Resources.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Provides support to organization through areas of recruitment, training, employee relations, compensations, reporting and HRIS system management.
- Performs full cycle recruiting for designated departments including but not limited to: SOX compliance, job postings, AAP tracking, job fairs, interviewing, background checks, offer letter generation, new employee orientation and other onboarding activities.
- Assist with bi-weekly payroll administration processes for both hourly and salaried staff.
- Administers employee compensation programs including but not limited to: hourly wage progression and bonus programs.
- Maintains a high level of visibility, accessibility and interaction with all employees.
- Ensures high level of integrity is maintained and that personnel matters are handled in a professional, consistent, and confidential manner.
- Promotes a positive work environment for all employees through multiple channels including coordination of employee activities and events.
- Administers company leave programs such as Short Term Disability, FMLA, Military, and Personal Leaves of Absence. Ensures compliance with federal, state and local employments laws as well as consistency in the application of leave programs.
- Administers employee Return to Work programs.
- Manages the Progressive Discipline System for the Hourly Workforce.
- Ensures consistent application of the system, reviews and provides recommendations for terminations ensuring compliance with federal, state and/or local employment laws.
- Lead or assists with HR programs within assigned business areas, included but not limited to: EEO, unemployment, AAP, litigation, retention, termination, turnover, and severance issues.
- Assists with management of Worker’s Compensation claims.
- All other duties as assigned.
Skills and Experience:
Thorough knowledge of human resource management. Thorough knowledge of labor and employment law. Ability to interpret and administer company policies. Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Solid- to advanced-level computer skills including experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access and HRIS program.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position. The employee is expected to work the hours necessary to complete the job accurately, thoroughly, and within given deadlines.
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field preferred.
- 3 plus years of related Human Resources experience. PHR/SPHR certification preferred.
- Knowledge and understanding of payroll processing, leave administration and employment laws and regulations.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment a plus.
- Strong knowledge in HRIS, Kronos or similar software.
- Excellent expertise in Microsoft Office suite programs.
- Impeccable attention to detail. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Strong interpersonal skills.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
