Cypress is a young, next generation environmental services company that is focused on building state of the art tools, technology, and data analysis. Cypress has been building upon the original company’s founder and Stanford University PhD’s and professor’s technology. These ultra-high-resolution tools are also known as “smart pigs” or “pipeline inspection gadgets” that are designed to provide high resolution images of pipelines to assist the owners in protecting property, people, and the environment. These inline inspection (“ILI”) tools are complex and utilized to inspect both municipal water pipelines that transport precious drinking water, and energy pipelines that transport various products including gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, crude oil, natural gas, natural gas liquids, and other products routinely transferred via underground pipelines. ILI of pipeline is similar to MRI’s in health care. Our technology utilizes Magnetic Flux Leakage (“MFL”) technology. We work for some of the most prestigious municipal water authorities and energy pipeline companies in the world including the City of San Francisco, Jordan Valley, North Jersey Water Supply Commission, Washington County Water, Travis Air Force Base, MacDill Air Force Base, City of Denver, Chevron, DCP Midstream, Plains All American, Phillips 66, etc. This position will support the execution of inspections in the oil & gas and water pipeline industries with MFL ILI systems in the field and workshop.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties may be assigned)

- Become familiar with Cypress equipment, including cleaning equipment, tracking, troubleshooting, repairing, QC policies, HSE standards, and maintenance procedures ensuring quality and proper operation of ILI tools.
- Assist certified technicians in completing projects in accordance with customer requirements.
- Complete inspection projects in accordance with Cypress’ operating guidelines.
- Assist in the preparation, launching and receiving of ILI systems and associated support equipment.
- Clean, refurbish and disassembly of equipment after project completion.
- Proper operation of forklifts, hoists, and cranes as needed.
- Transport of ILI systems and associated support equipment to project site.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and improvement in the work environment.
- Ensure the quality, accuracy, and timely completion of project-related reports.
- Analyze field data and interpret basic pipeline features for field reports.
- Apply knowledge of job scheduling and planning.
- Ability to work independently or with a team in accordance with project scope.
- Actively participate in training sessions and pass required exams IAW API 1163 and ANSI/ASNT ILI-PQ-2017 standards.
- Ability to apply and practice knowledge from informal/formal training, classroom, and OJT to field work.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

- Completion of accredited technical/vocational college training and/or minimum 3 years of corresponding ILI related work experience or 5 years Oil & Gas related manufacturing, or operational experience preferred

- Valid Driver's License – Class C preferred or the ability to acquire this license.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $128,290.95 per year
