Responsibilities:
The Imaging Scheduler I will work Full Time, Days and in the ever-changing field of Radiology, it is necessary to have high quality, specialized scheduling staff who coordinate patient appointments and monitor critical access points for patients and providers.
- The Imaging Scheduler participates in department and modality specific training to accomplish these goals.
- The Imaging Schedulers are vital in the smooth daily flow for the department of Radiology.
- The Imaging Schedulers back up scheduling processes and phones for other areas such as Vascular Lab and DXA as well as affiliate sites.
- This staff member is expected to demonstrate excellence in all patient and customer encounters including face-to-face and telephone interactions.
- The Imaging Scheduler assures that a high quality patient experience takes place by providing administrative and/or clinical support to ambulatory patient care teams through excellent customer service, attention to detail, and interpersonal skills.
- Responsible for providing clear, accurate, timely communication to technologists, nurses and providers regarding patients.
- Responsible for accurate, appropriate scheduling of patients for optimum care and provider efficiency.
- The Imaging Scheduler is responsible for collecting demographic and financial information during the scheduling and/or registration processes to ensure full and timely revenue capture.
- Will also have direct revenue responsibility through payment collection, cash handling, processing of insurance eligibility and managed care information.
Education/Qualifications:
- Associates degree preferred.
- Minimum 2 year of experience in a busy office environment, dealing with public and inbound phone calls required.
- Associate’s degree will waive 1 year experience requirement.
- None.
- Strong computer, customer service and communication skills required.
- Good interpersonal communication skills to work with a diverse group of people within and outside of the organization.
- Well developed organizational skills, ability to prioritize work.
- Must have the ability to handle confidential information and sensitive situations.
- Skills in medical terminology preferred.
- Extended periods of sitting at a computer and on the phone.
- Walking between clinics and hospital work areas.
- Minor lifting associated with filing and stocking of supplies; stooping, bending, reaching.
- Work Environment: A busy office setting with majority of time spent at a computer, on the phone and dealing with patients and staff, face-to-face.
- Work schedule is defined as weekdays during normal business hours with occasional weekends, but flexibility is necessary based on the needs of the department.
