Summary:
The University of Illinois Springfield invites applications for a Psychology Instructor. The successful candidate should have an M.A. or Ph.D. specialization in Health Psychology awarded from a regionally accredited university prior to the August 16, 2023 start date and demonstrated excellence in teaching. Experience pursuing innovative and engaging teaching strategies and a demonstrated potential for service is desirable. Teaching responsibilities would include undergraduate courses such as Health Psychology, Research Methods, Principles of Psychology, and courses in the candidate's specialty area. Normal teaching load is four courses per semester.

This is a full-time on-campus position and benefit-eligible non-tenured academic appointment. UIS faculty are expected to be available and engaged in the campus community to perform professional responsibilities as assigned.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Teaching responsibilities: Health Psychology, Research Methods, Principles of Psychology, and courses in the candidate’s specialty area: 80%
  • Service responsibilities: The faculty member will be expected to make service contributions at the department, college, and university levels: 20%

Experience pursuing innovative and engaging teaching strategies and a demonstrated potential for service is desirable.
