Building and Construction Systems , a business unit of Arconic, is the leading manufacturer of Architectural Aluminum Products and Systems for the Building and Construction industry. Arconic Architectural Products (AAP) is part of Arconic’s global Building and Construction Systems (BCS) business unit.
We’re currently seeking a highly motivated and energetic student to join our team as an Engineering Intern. The Engineering Intern position is Full-Time with a minimum 12-week assignment for Summer 2023. The selected candidate will receive a monthly salary as well monthly housing stipend. This position will be based at our 50 Industrial Blvd. Eastman, GA location.

Under the direction of the Plant Manager, the Intern This position will assist engineering and manufacturing in driving improvements in quality and delivery performance through process control and improvement initiatives while allowing for development in teamwork, project management and Engineering. This position will also be involved in all aspects of the process, from concept/scope development, CAD drawings, work breakdown structures/project planning, to execution/installation.
The application period closes on March 31, 2023, and selections will be completed by April 15, 2023. This will allow time to set up the summer internship dates with selected candidates based on their schedules.Responsibilities will include:
- Learning Arconic’s EHS systems and applying them to the manufacturing plant floor to improve safety and overall working conditions of the employees
- Observing the plant’s operations in a specific assigned area, and working with a senior member of the engineering staff or Plant Manager as a mentor to complete assigned tasks
- Attending daily management meetings representing the engineering department with project updates and/or receiving new jobs
- Investigate, design, engineer, justify and implement improvement activities
- Using AutoCAD or Solid Works, update plant layout drawings
- Providing engineering innovations that will increase reliability and availability of the plant facilities
- Working closely with Production, Planning and other departments (Purchasing, Maintenance, or outside vendors) to plan work activities
- Help assist with Maintenance storeroom inventory accuracy projects including implementing QR Codes on critical parts

Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in Engineering degree - Operations focus with an expected graduation date of August 2023, December 2023, or April/May/June 2024
- Experience with Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel
- Experience with AutoCAD or similar software
- Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Student Pursuing Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
- GPA of 3.0 or above
- Involvement in an extracurricular activity
- Prior work experience or internship in an industrial environment or similar
