Northwood University is seeking an International Program Center Coordinator. Based from our Midland, MI campus, the selected individual will provide administrative support and guidance to ensure academic quality and integrity at International Program Centers (IPCs) as it relates to course offerings, faculty and student support services, and academic audit. This includes managing IPC registration process and working closely with registrar’s office to process graduation audits. The IPC coordinator will promote a learner-centered environment by focusing on excellence in the teaching/learning exchange, curriculum development and delivery, assessment, and overall program health.
Responsibilities: IPC coordinator will:
- Plan, develop and implement processes for key administrative functions to support IPCs:
- Student Application and Student Conversion Processes
- Curriculum management processes (degree audit, course sections, registration, etc.)
- Academic records maintenance
- Graduation audits and reporting
- Perform such other duties as may be delegated or assigned, including data entry as needed, to ensure the academic program quality at each IPC
- Develop and coordinate an international internal transfer evaluation process for the institution
- Conduct initial vetting of institutions and transcript evaluation and record results for IPC students (transfer equivalencies, etc.) in database
- Manage relationships with strategic International partners
- Develop and maintain articulations for international partner institutions
- Manage the IPC faculty hiring/approval process. Including: collection of documents from IPCs, providing HR the necessary information, managing IPC faculty documents/approvals in Image Now and Colleague, ensuring faculty’s Blackboard access, coordinate approvals for Tested Experience, and maintain/update IPC faculty lists
- Program quality assurance at the IPCs, including mirroring IPC practices with other operating units (i.e. program surveys, CPC exam, syllabi audits, faculty credentials, etc.)
- Support strategic partnership development initiatives
- Assist with the international admissions process in the following ways:
- International GPA and credit conversion
- Initial vetting of international student’s academic records
- Determine eligibility for acceptance to the university
- Review international articulations and update annually; collaborate with Advising and MI Registration departments
- Create initial DCPs for non-articulation students
- Perform other duties as requested by Assistant VP, Free Market Partnerships and International Programs
Expectations:
- Effectively communicate to the IPC partners, IPC students and university colleagues
- Assist with academic audit with AVP of Free Market Partnerships and International Programs, Dir. of International Operation and Compliance
- Maintaining audit and academic records and other required documents and maintain data integrity within the student information system
- Engage with University Registrar in maintaining IPC students in the Colleague Student Information System
- Demonstrate critical thinking and problem solving abilities
- Routinely use Colleague software and Image Now to improve reporting and processing
- Work closely with the University’s registrar team
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree, Masters preferred
- Experience in maintaining, developing and implementing electronic and other processes to improve the function of an administrative unit
- Demonstrated mastery of Admissions/Registrar office processes
- Familiarity with university academic, curricular, and legal policies (especially FERPA) that pertain to the functions of a registrars and/or admissions office
- Ability to work independently and as a team member
- Ability to work in multicultural environment and willingness to travel internationally as needed
- A positive attitude and the ability to plan and adapt to change
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, expertise in EXCEL
- Analytical skills, attention to detail, communication and organization skills
- Experience with Institutional databases such as Ellucian, Colleague and Image Now software
