Summary
Monitors all aspects of a project, from initiation to closure, with direct accountability for project execution while guiding a project team, or teams, to accomplish specific objectives in a given time frame and budget with limited resources. This position is responsible managing large, multi-disciplinary project teams to document project requirements, deliverables, timeline/schedule, status, and risks/issues for assigned projects and has ultimate accountability for project outcomes, including on-time, on-budget, high quality project delivery. Collaborates with project stakeholders to ensure projects achieve desired results with respect to defined metrics and benefit measures. Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in The Methodist Mission, Vision and Values.

REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business management, healthcare administration or related field.
Minimum four (4) years direct project management experience..
Must possess credential in Project Management Professional Certification (PMP)
PREFERRED:
Master’s degree in computer science, business management, healthcare administration, or related field.
Five (5) years of direct
healthcare IT project management experience
Six Sigma/Lean Certification
ITIL Certification
SUBSTITUTIONS ALLOWED:
In lieu of Bachelor’s degree, the candidate must have an Associate’s Degree and seven (7) years of direct healthcare IT project management experience.

- Demonstrated expertise in Information Technology project management as evidenced by experience in supporting large, multi-disciplinary IT and/or healthcare IT projects.
- Demonstrated leadership ability in the management of people, processes, hardware, software, and other resources.
- Demonstrated ability to consistently apply analytical skills to identify problems and offer solutions.
- Must exercise sound judgment and initiative in all circumstances, including very stressful situations.
- Knowledge of establish project management methodologies: Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK), including waterfall/software development life cycle (SDLC) and Agile, as evidenced by Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
- Demonstrate proficiency in technical and business writing, verbal, and presentation skills.

Key Job Responsibilities
- Serves as project manager on large, complex projects or as a program/project manager on multiple projects of moderate complexity. Organizes and leads multi-disciplinary project teams to ensure defined project requirements, scope, and deliverables are met within established timeframes and budget.
- Develops and maintains comprehensive project documentation, including the project charter, detailed project plan, issue and risk lists, executive dashboards, monthly status reports, and other project artifacts. Maintains comprehensive document archive for each assigned project and ensures all project team members and stakeholders have ready, convenient access to project-related documentation and data.
- Monitors and controls project scope and objectives through full cycle implementations and ensures that scope remains in agreement with functionality and deliverables defined in the project charter.
- Leads project teams in defining benefit measures and metrics and in obtaining baseline measures to ensure that projects meets all expected outcomes in terms of quality, functionality, budget, etc.
- Facilitates project team meetings and is responsible for project tracking and analysis. Highly comfortable and facile with presentations and communications across all levels of the organization.
- Serves as key project resource responsible for the management and coordination of vendor and 3rd party service provider activities. Ensures vendors are enabled to provide the scope of work outlined in the contract or service agreement.
- Performs other job functions as assigned or requested.
Physical Requirements
- Subject to call back at all times: Responds as required or requested on a 7/24 on-call basis to support the organization, particularly during project execution/go-live.
- Subject to travel to other cities via airline or other commercial conveyances for training or other activities.
- Must provide own transportation to any Methodist operating unit to facilitate meetings or provide project support.
- Subject to standard office working conditions with intermittent exposure to noisy computer equipment.
- Required to sit for extended periods.
- Will often experience stressful working conditions due to tight schedules and limited resources.
- Must have normal or corrected-to-normal vision and hearing.
- Ability to understand complex verbal and written communications and respond verbally and in writing as appropriate. Typical mediums of communication, include face-to-face dialog, telephone, and electronic mail.
