Edinburgh Pet Health Center is seeking a fun-loving, part-time kennel/animal assistant to join our team! EPHC has been providing high-quality and compassionate veterinary care for 30 years in the Brooklyn Park community. The ideal candidate will be friendly, detail oriented, self-motivated and a team player. The position is for weekday afternoons from 1PM to Close (about 6PM each day), as well as working some Saturdays from 8 am to Close (about 12PM).

Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Assisting veterinary technicians and doctors with animal handling and restraint.
• Cleaning exam rooms, treatment rooms and surgery/dental suites after use
• Cleaning hospital cages after use
• Restocking inventory
• Setting up certain lab tests
• Evening closing duties such as sweeping, vacuuming and mopping
• Over time, other duties may include anesthesia monitoring and helping with surgery prep.

Qualifications:

· Upbeat and adaptable with a positive attitude

· Excellent attendance

· Able to lift 35-40 pounds

You are required to take a “Dogwarts” quiz upon arrival to determine which house you belong to. The owner is a Hufflepuff which is also a good sign. Each month our houses compete for cool prizes. Recently, one of our Hufflepuffs won a $100 gift card to Texas Roadhouse! Fun fact: almost half of our staff drive 30-45 minutes to and from work every day. It’s really worth it!
