BASIC PURPOSE
The program assistant will help with data entry for kettle income and payroll. The program assistant will also assist with counting coins and bills using currency counters. The program assistant with also prepare currency bags for both coins and bills for the corresponding corps to be picked up for depositing. Shift will be approximately 6 hours per day, 5 days a week, hours may vary due to needs of the business. Last day of work will be 12/30/2022.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist with currency counting
Assist with data entry of both kettle income and bell ringers’ hours
Prepare currency bags for the corresponding corps
Communicate any discrepancy found on a kettle worker’s timesheet.
Keep track of daily deposits to produce a weekly deposit header for DHQ.
Assist with hiring kettle workers.
Assist with assigning debt cards to kettle workers
Assist with submitting weekly payroll for kettle workers.
Keep track of the progress toward meeting the year’s income target for the Red Kettle Campaign.
Address any concerns and/or complaints about any of the bell ringers.
The program assistant is responsible in assisting staff with currency counting, data entry, payroll, and kettle worker documentation.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS
Must have a pleasant personality and the ability to communicate well with the public.
Must present an appropriate appearance (i.e., clothing should be neat, clean and pressed, not loose-fitting or sloppy, and in good condition; shoes must be clean and in good condition).
Computer skill are required, Excel, Word, and data input.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. The individual must not participate in any form of substance abuse or show evidence of use while performing his/her duties or while present on Salvation Army property.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School diploma is required, and some college would be preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to question from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
The employee frequently is required to sit and talk or hear.
The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
