Job Title: IAN01I - Lead Data Analyst – IT

Brief Description: The Lead Data Analyst is responsible for designing and developing new analytics solutions supporting project launches for pharma clients and Operations senior leadership within UBC. This position is customer-facing and is a key leader for major UBC initiatives in a rewarding and innovation-centered position.

Specific Job Duties:
  • Build and maintain Tableau operational analytics dashboards.
  • Manage all facets of supported analytics projects from new business awards through launch.
  • Build and mature business process, application, and data subject matter expertise for supported service lines and projects to serve as a highly-credible advisor to customer base.
  • Manage supported analytics projects’ Tableau Server and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) reports, dashboards, subscriptions, and extracts including failures, long-running processes and retirement monitoring.
  • Support Analytics team and leadership with SQL, Tableau, and general analytics best practices.
  • Support pharma client engagements as needed including periodic travel to UBC or client sites as needed (typically no more than once per quarter).
  • Create and maintain excellent customer-facing relationships with Operations and clients.
  • Present project status updates and state of the team to Analytics leadership on a regular basis.
  • Take full ownership of execution and performance of assigned analytics projects.

Supervisory Responsibility: None

Desired Skills and Qualifications:
  • BS in a technical field (Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, etc); MS in a data-related field (BI, Analytics, Data Science, etc) preferred.
  • 10+ years of prior experience as a Data Analyst in a highly technical role.
  • Preferred experience in the healthcare or pharmaceutical industry
  • Advanced to expert SQL and MSSQL skills.
  • Advanced to expert dashboard design skills, including 5+ years of experience with a dashboard toolset (Tableau, PowerBI).
  • 5+ years of data analysis experience in a customer-facing, consultative role.
  • Preferred Machine Learning experience.
  • Preferred Python experience.
  • Excellent communication and presentation ability.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Potential travel of 5-10%
