As such, we are currently seeking a Lead Drupal Developer who demonstrates the following skills and brings the following experience:

• 8+ recent years of experience developing modern websites and applications – start to finish.
• Mastery of HTML and CSS/SASS; PHP; JavaScript and jQuery; Drupal 7 and 8/9 data modeling; competent with Twig theming, VueJS, or ReactJS.
• Mastery of version control systems, such as Git, to work collaboratively with other developers.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to express ideas as part of a creative team.
• Experience using and developing CI workflows for automated builds and deployments.
• Highly developed soft skills
  • Able to effectively communicate and consult internally with peers, leadership, cross-functional team members and clients, with a firm grasp of business goals, impacts and opportunities, grounding recommendations in sound rationale.
  • Proactive, solution-oriented and able to effectively manage relationships, both internally and externally.
  • Able to meet deadlines and think strategically.
  • A passionate approach to work with a desire to push boundaries and the coaching skills to achieve it.
• Clear understanding of technical Search Engine Optimization best practices; ARIA, WCAG, Section 508 compliance/conformance best practices and web performance standards.

Miles Partnership is an industry-leading agency partner for local, state, national and international tourism and hospitality businesses. We are looking for a seasoned software engineer with experience developing classic, progressively decoupled, and completely decoupled Drupal sites, who possesses the skills, experience and drive to mentor and organize a talented team of developers building and maintaining enterprise-level websites.

The Lead Developer is responsible for the development and quality assurance of high-profile tourism and hospitality websites in a fee-for-service environment, and serves as a bridge between the development team, other business teams and clients.

Your team is partnered with a tight-knit group of interactive producers, project managers, content and design/UX specialists and will build a handful of major sites each year, while maintaining and evolving an assortment of others. The work environment is casual, fun, productive and highly growth-oriented.

This role requires advanced expertise in developing for Drupal in addition to management expertise.

Essential Duties for Lead Drupal Developer:

• Lead, directly manage and mentor a diverse team of open-source web developers.
• Establish operational standards and model a culture of ownership, productivity and teamwork that adheres to the agreed standards.
• Contribute to project planning, including the preparation of stories, requirements, development approach and estimates.
• Consult with project management, design and content teams in internally-facing and client-facing contexts. Present options, pros and cons, and sound rationale.
• Aid the organization to make sure that the development team and technologies being selected are aligned with Miles’ goals and vision for its business.
• Lead the onboarding and adoption of DevOps best practices that improve your team’s delivery process, including CI/CD, unit testing and linting.
• Stay up to date with technology and teach other developers to incorporate new trends.
• Generate ideas with team members and offer insightful solutions.
• Write testable, scalable and efficient code and lead code reviews.
• Collaborate with other team members to resolve technical and design issues.
• Lead the development and ongoing maintenance of classic Drupal sites.
• Integrate Drupal with other external applications built on ReactJS or VueJS.
• Build and maintain progressively decoupled Drupal experiences with complex VueJS front ends.
• Build and consult with team members about the development of custom Drupal modules.
• Integrate data from various 3rd-party services and databases.
• Sell ideas with confidence.
• Meet tight deadlines with a cool head.
• Attend meetings and briefings with clients and peers.
• Collaborate with other team members to resolve technical and design issues.
• Delegate tasks to appropriate team members and manage development efforts at all stages.
• Provide feedback, mentorship, and guidance to assist your team members in achieving their professional goals.

Travel Requirements:

• Occasional intra- and/or inter-state travel required, sometimes requiring an overnight stay

Location: This is a remote position. We are open to a remote candidate located anywhere in the US or an in-office candidate based in our Sarasota, FL or Lakewood, CO office.

Salary Range: $100,000-$115,000 DOE
