LOCATION: Green Bay

STANDARD HOURS: 40 hours per week. Typical hours Monday - Friday 8:00 am -5:00 pm; Flexibility required to include other evening and/or weekend hours, as necessary.

SALARY RANGE: $67,984 - $75,538 per year

  • Salaries/Wages for all finalists (internal and external) will be based upon education, experiences, current wages, and internal equity.

POSITION SUMMARY

Work collaboratively to champion the integration of innovative technologies into the learning environment. Consult with faculty to promote the utilization of technology to support teaching and learning best practices and foster engaging, pedagogically sound teaching and learning environments. Partner with Learning departments to identify / analyze needs and recommend opportunities to leverage technology to increase student access, success, and persistence. Facilitate the research, pilot, evaluation, and adoption of emerging technologies. Collaborate in the development and maintenance of resources to empower faculty to effectively utilize learning technology resources. Develop and manage partnerships with NWTC departments to provide learning technology support to faculty, students, staff, and external partners. Advise college-wide committees and project groups related to learning technology and other areas of expertise.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

  • Partner with faculty, staff, and students to create distinctive and innovative education experiences using technology both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Maintain active connections with peer and industry partners to stay appraised of new and emerging academic technologies in a way that directly informs innovations and investments in education.
  • Consult with faculty one-on-one and small groups regarding instructional technology tools, learning theory and pedagogy, and best practices for teaching with technology in face-to-face, online, and blended environments.
  • Partner with the Technology Systems Specialist to provide administrative role support to the Learning management System in the areas of design, support, and maintenance.
  • Facilitate the research, pilot, evaluation, and adoption of emerging technologies.
  • Schedule, communicate, and manage performance of maintenance on the learning technology systems to provide maximum uptime and to correct discovered items before they become problems.
  • Perform diagnostics, resolve problems, escalate problems to vendors as required, work with other group members, and take appropriate actions to assure appropriate and prompt solutions to learning technology system related problems.
  • Collaborate in the development and maintenance of resources (e.g., Tech Tool Finder), documentation, and professional development sessions to help faculty to use instructional technology resources more effectively to increase student access, engagement, success, and persistence.
  • Facilitate technology-related communities of practice.
  • Research, analyze, and evaluate (ROI) new technologies for potential application in instruction and continually develop new skills to advance their instructional technology skills.
  • Partner with internal departments to identify and analyze LMS functionality challenges / needs and recommend opportunities for new functionality to enhance teaching and learning.
  • Assist in the implementation and scaling of emerging technologies related to the delivery of learning materials (e.g., LMS, Web Conferencing, digital lecture capture), ensuring all new technology is accessible and inclusive, to support teaching and learning best practices.
  • Develop a partnership and advise internal departments / committees about enhancement and usage opportunities to achieve instructional/learning goals.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education: Bachelor’s Degree Associate Degree (Bachelor’s preferred) in an Education, Educational Technology, Technology Specialist, or Social Science.

Experience: Minimum three (3) years’ experience in a teaching and/or training environment; strong consultation, research, and project management skills. Teaching and / or facilitation experience. Knowledge of instructional technologies (e.g., Learning Management Systems, Web Conferencing, Lecture Capture, Online Engagement Tools, etc.). **An equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered.
