Summary

The Live Accountant II is responsible for maintaining accuracy of general ledger accounts and cost centers, supervising Ingredients Payable Specialist and Flock Settlement Coordinator, reviewing weekly broiler settlement, and supporting the Corp & Live Accounting Manager in the preparation of all accounting and financial data to provide management with accurate information in the areas of costs, budgets, forecasting and to do so in an efficient manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Support Allen Harim’s Vision, Mission and Values.

· Perform accounting duties as directed including budgeting and costing control.

· Evaluate and maintain accuracy of general ledger.

· Evaluate and maintain accuracy of expenses posted to live operations cost centers.

· Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.

· Reconcile all balance sheet accounts assigned within required timeframe.

· Prepare and record journal entries.

· Support monthly closing cycle and prepare monthly management reports.

· Prepare PowerPoint slides for monthly results meeting.

· Review and approve weekly broiler settlement.

· Prepare and distribute weekly live cost estimate and Grower Performance Report.

· Run weekly feed and Mtech audit reports and research any variances or discrepancies.

· Interface ingredient receivings from Mtech to SAP.

· Invoice vaccine purchases in Mtech as received.

· Reconcile weekly physical vaccine inventory sheet with week ending vaccine inventory in Mtech.

· Process outside egg, bird and feed sales/purchases in Mtech.

· Process any broiler litter adjustments in Mtech.

· Review any broiler farm and/or entity number change.

· Setup new product/vendor/customer as needed in Mtech.

· Prepare and update Standard Operating Procedures as needed.

· Maintain broiler/breeder housing and windows incentive information.

· Monitor company farm leases and dwelling rental agreements.

· Monitor all other contracts, leases and service agreements related to Live Operations.

· Submit check requests to A/P for payment to producers/vendors/lenders.

· Reconcile 1099 information for broiler and breeder grower pay and prepare annual file.

· Perform physical count of broiler medication, fuel and hatchery vaccine inventories annually.

· Test relevant functions and reports in Mtech whenever there is an update.

· Review the test result of broiler settlement function in Mtech whenever there is an update.

· Supervise Ingredients Payable Specialist and Flock Settlement Coordinator.

· Review and approve Kronos time clocks and Paid Time Offs of the direct reports.

· Resolve inquiries and provide guidance to the direct reports.

· Report promptly any accounting and financial related issues to Corp & Live Accounting Manager.

· Support Corp & Live Accounting Manager in the daily/weekly/monthly administration of financial and accounting practices of the live operations business.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

· Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field required.

· 3+ year in accounting with a poultry, meat or perishable foods preferred.

· MTECH and SAP experiences preferred.
