Job description
- Liaise between Educators Rising state-level staff and the PDK national office to coordinate and implement common goals for success
- Prepare and facilitate professional learning for teacher leaders through trainings, professional learning communities, and consultative sessions as teachers implement the Educators Rising standards through curriculum, competitions, and programming to support students in their journey to become meaningful and effective educators in their communities
- Conduct Educators Rising Curriculum Trainings at the state and regional level as needed
- Support the annual Louisiana state conference and competitions as needed
- Coordinate expansion of partnerships with schools and districts to establish Educators Rising chapters that introduce high school students to the teaching profession
- Travel across the state to districts and schools to support professional learning and outreach as needed
- Attend the annual Educators Rising National Conference as a state representative
- Additional duties as needed or assigned
- The ideal candidate would be located in Louisiana.
- Exceptional emotional intelligence, compassion, and self-awareness combined with strength of conviction, and “steel” in the face of adversity. Oh, and humor too.
- Bachelor’s degree, Master’s preferred OR commensurate work experience
- 3+ years of experience in K12 education
- Experience with the consultative communication process
- A demonstrated ability to mediate discussions by recognizing underlying hesitations and overcoming concerns.
- Proven track record of excelling in a fast-paced work environment and managing time effectively
- Ability to execute but not be limited to linear thinking and a willingness to lead and innovate
- Confident, assertive, and goal oriented with ability to learn quickly and effectively apply learned processes into practice.
- Exceptional communicator – verbal and written.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, SharePoint, OneDrive)
This is a contract position with PDK International for $40-50 per hour depending on experience, with approximately 20 hours of work each week (not including travel time), with commensurate compensation available upon proven success.
