Job Description
The M&A Financial Analyst will actively participate in the entire M&A process and have day-to-day responsibility for driving acquisitions and divestitures forward. This role will report to the Director of Business Development and will work closely with business units and corporate leadership. The M&A Financial Analyst will participate in identifying & targeting new M&A targets, evaluating and analyzing those targets and driving both internal and external processes in executing acquisitions. We are looking for a seasoned professional preferably with 1-3+ years of experience in corporate M&A or finance environment, investment banking, commercial lending, strategy consulting, public accounting or another financial/investment institution.This position will be located in Milwaukee, WI.
Key Accountabilities
Evaluate mergers, acquisitions and divestitures for Zurn Elkay
Create Zurn Elkay’s M&A strategy, research and build the acquisition funnel, cultivate and maintain relationships with M&A target companies, convert targets to actionable opportunities
Manage due diligence process as necessary internally and with external third parties (lawyers, accountants)
Work with internal and external customers during merger and acquisition process from strategic rationale, due diligence, approvals and negotiations through full integration. This includes participating in acquisition integration with corporate and business unit personnel
Presentation materials summarizing investment opportunities and recommendations for senior management
Identify key integration value drivers, risks, and mitigation actions to build transition strategies and integration plans for all functional aspects
Develop and maintain some/all of the key master files for use with all acquisitions: master valuation model, due diligence request list, integration task list, purchase accounting questionnaire and other acquisition related materials
Complete financing analysis and asset valuation studies
Prepare and/or analyze post-acquisition financial statements and key financial/non-financial metrics
Maintain relationships with investment bankers and other intermediaries in the M&A space
Maintain and track a comprehensive database of all M&A opportunities evaluated
Manage and negotiate non-disclosure agreements and confidentiality agreements with target companies
Evaluate and monitor competitive positioning and financial performance of Zurn Elkay competitors
Research new & existing markets and determine profile and level of attractiveness
Assist with preparation of quarterly board meetings and analyst calls
Participate in Zurn Elkay’s strategic annual planning process
Utilize industry data to maintain a proprietary market growth forecasting model for various Zurn Elkay businesses & products lines
Special projects as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics or relevant finance experience
1-3+ years of experience in a corporate M&A or finance environment, investment banking, commercial lending, strategy consulting, public accounting or another financial/investment institution
Exposure to integrated financial modeling and valuation (Comparable company trading and transaction valuation, DCF, LBO)
Proficient use of Excel and entire Microsoft Office Suite
Must be able to travel up to 25%; travel may include international assignments
