SUCCESS IN THIS POSITION INCLUDES the following:

• Repairs are completed more efficiently with correctly chosen parts delivered to work bays

• Increased accuracy of work orders and part counts due to correctly selected and billed parts

• Decrease in special order part shelf life due to focus on these work orders and assignment of work

• Efficient second shift operation due to proactive work assignment and parts support

Maintenance Lead
Serve as the second shift shop lead. Ownership includes the following:

• Prioritize work to be completed, with the goal of ensuring equipment is available to begin routes or other work the following day

• Appropriately assign preventive maintenance and repair work orders to mechanics

• Support mechanics in fleet management software usage by reviewing equipment/part history, and provide diagnostic research when needed

• Create, post and close outside work orders; close completed internal work orders, ensuring proper billing of fluids and parts

• Provide daily communication with all operational areas concerning equipment availability and status

• Serve as the go-to person for all questions on second shift, reaching out for management support as needed

Parts Lead
Act in a lead role between the parts room and the mechanic team. Ownership
includes the following:

• Have an “on the floor” presence, delivering parts to mechanics at each bay

• Pull parts for scheduled PM services and create “kits” to be available on demand

• Bill out parts to work orders upon delivery to mechanics, allowing the mechanics to focus on installation and repair activities

• Conduct research when needed and request all special-order parts through Purchasing Department

• Complete core returns, ensuring process is accurately followed
• Order and pick up parts as needed after hours from local vendors

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

• Formal diesel training from a college, university or technical institute preferred

• 5+years prior work experience as a mechanic or technician working on diesel engines, preferably trucks and heavy equipment

• Prior experience working with or in a parts room environment preferred
• Strong working knowledge of VRMS codes and equipment maintenance software

• Valid driver’s license with safe driving record and fork truck license (or ability to obtain)
