Manager, Provider Operations

WHY IS THIS ROLE CRITICAL?

The primary responsibility of the Manager, Provider Operations is the direct oversight of the day-to-day clinical operations for the Nurse Practitioners, Licensed Clinical Social Workers, Behavioral Health providers, and other clinical professionals. We are seeking a candidate with practice management and leadership experience, preferably within healthcare. The position requires overseeing the day-to-day operations of clinical professionals, adherence to budget, monitoring productivity and revenue generation. The ideal candidate will be positive, self-motivated, and highly knowledgeable and competent in all business aspects of a provider practice.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversees strategy and execution of day-to-day clinical providers and services directly leading to desired outcomes in performance, productivity, and financial Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Leverage telehealth technology to improve health outcomes and overall patient experience
  • Lead clinical professionals by providing an excellent employee experience through active motivation, consistent communication, and effective feedback
  • In partnership with Quality and Performance Improvement, perform ongoing audits and analyses of provider activity and processes, while monitoring and tracking provider performance against KPIs, to ensure the quality and integrity of patient care, as well as the corresponding data in various provider data systems
  • Work in partnership with credentialing and licensing team to ensure timely response to submission requirements and for ongoing provider status monitoring
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of programs and processes that build and support positive relationships between Upward Health providers, patients, and other internal and external resources
  • Ensure quality patient care through telehealth and in-home provider visits
  • Manage system for patient flow; create and implements plans for quality of care and efficiency
  • Partner with the leadership team to develop key clinical metrics to drive improvement of care and programs
  • Ensure regulatory compliance with all applicable requirements
  • Develops talent within team to build bench strength within the organization; ensures the clinical operations team has the tools and the skills necessary to execute the clinical model delivery
  • Ensures strict compliance with federal and state regulations and company policies, procedures, and processes
  • Participate with other care team members in regular or special meetings such as Clinical rounds
  • Perform other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Leadership experience in provider operations and/or office environment
  • Interpersonal savvy, with the demonstrated ability to interact with and influence people to establish trust and build strong relationships.
  • Ability to effectively analyze data, make decisions and implement recommendations for improvement in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong focus on culture, employee engagement, and performance management, with the ability to attract, manage and develop staff of unmatched quality.
  • Experience creating and implementing clinical service models that add value to physician practices.
  • Interpersonal savvy, demonstrated by the ability to interact with and influence clients at all levels.
  • Entrepreneurial and operational mindset to create, execute, and measure from the ground up with a high sense of urgency.
  • Excellent written, computer, and oral communication skills – will proactively and thoroughly communicate with other members of the team.
Requirements:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in health-related field of study required· 3+ years’ experience in a provider operations role serving in a leadership capacity · Demonstrated success in leading an existing patient-centric clinical group· Experience establishing clinical protocols/operations, monitoring KPIs, clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction· Experience working with Medicaid and Medicare patient populations· Commitment to addressing health disparities by striving to improve care, access, and service to those affected by social determinants of health· Experience with completing real-time documentation in EHR and/or Care Management systems

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION

Master's degree preferred.
