ESCRIPTION
Medical assistants provide physician support services that ensure that healthcare facilities run smoothly. They are responsible for administrative as well as clinical tasks, such as maintaining patient records, preparing patients and rooms for examination, assisting physicians with exams, and performing front-desk tasks.
Occasionally scheduled to work on the weekends.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED from an accredited On-site institute- Medical Assistant Diploma from an accredited Institute
- Completion of a Phlebotomy coursework
- Knowledge of electronic medical records and other software like Microsoft
- Medical Assistant Certification (CMA); required within the first year of employment
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
- Phlebotomy certification
- Bilingual – English/Spanish or English/Creole
- 2 + years of medical assistant experience in a clinical setting
Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience and/or certifications may be considered.
Education needs to come from an accredited school or educational college/institution.
