Job description
Requirements: Knowledge of computers, some medical terminology, procedures and medications. Attend to patients and address inquiries in person or in the office. Provide information regarding the practice. Must have the ability to multi-task while dealing with patients in the office and on the phone.
Medical Assistant is a vital and dynamic role in supporting our providers with medical and surgical dermatology. They perform patient services as requested which may require PDT, injections, suture removal, patch testing, bandage change, wound checks and other care as needed. Certification, license (s) and/or schooling is required in order to assist providers with patient care and procedures. Knowledge of healthcare rules and regulations is necessary to understand the complexity of the healthcare field. Willingness to learn and be attentive to our providers and having the ability to prioritize tasks is key to office and patient flow. Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely to patients and providers.
Job Duties:

· Greet patients appropriately. (e.g. Good Morning/Good Afternoon, how may I assist you?)
· Ensure patients are being attended to in a timely fashion.
· Schedule patient appointments.
· Answer phones, screen, and direct calls.
· Check voicemails hourly.
· Make sure front desk is fully stocked with patient intake forms, consent forms, and office supplies.
· Provide information about our providers.
· Confirm appointments for the following day.
· Take and relay messages.
· Entering and scanning patient demographics into EMR system.
· Collect and post all balances/copays from patients.
· Tally and prepare deposits daily and make the weekly deposit to the bank.
· Assist with selling and promoting products, and cosmetic procedures.
· Make sure to obtain all referrals when needed.
· Comply with all policies and procedures of the practice.
· Perform any other assignments as directed by management and providers. Always
· Responsible for opening/closing of exam rooms, assuring they are properly stocked, cleaned and report when stock is low to the proper personnel.
· Escort patients to and from the exam rooms. • Enter all patient information into the EMR system and prepare the patients for the providers, including but not limited to, merging templates when requested from provider (MD/NP/PA), patient education and assisting providers in cosmetic procedures if applicable.
· Complete charts daily.
· Photo taking as per the provider’s request with the patient’s approval.
· Proper use of lab equipment.
· Proper execution of instrument sterilization process.
· Filling and emptying of CRY-AC. Careful handling of liquid nitrogen.
· Replace and dispose of biohazard bags and sharps containers into appropriate boxes.
· Call patients with medical care instructions and biopsy/lab results as per the provider.
· Perform any other assignments as directed by management.
