The ideal candidate will possess specific training and/or experience working with diverse populations, including but not limited to BIPOC students, LGBTQ+ students, first-generation college students, veterans and students of various ethnicities, religious backgrounds, those on the autism spectrum and students with various abilities, and immigration histories.
The successful candidate will be a licensed counselor or social worker with established clinical, outreach, and training experiences serving diverse populations.

Essential FunctionsGeneral duties of the position include:
1. Provide short-term solution focused individual and group therapy, crisis intervention and consultation to Nazareth students.
2. Collaborate with staff of Health and Counseling Services (Mental Health Counselors, Family NPs, RNs, LPNs, and other staff) regarding student treatment plans for continuity of care and optimal treatment outcomes.
3. Provide outreach and psychoeducational workshops (sometimes after-hours).
4. Provide clinical supervision and training of graduate-level interns.
5. Provide case management involving consultant relationships within the Nazareth community and off-campus partners.
6. Maintain accurate and current clinical records within the Electronic Health Record, ensuring that visit records are completed within 48 hours of each student. Ensures all clinically related communication with students is recorded within the student’s chart.
7. Update Health and Counseling Staff on mental health and wellness initiatives, and collaborate with staff members as appropriate. Participate in departmental and divisional assessment activities and other initiatives as requested.
8. Adhere to ethical and professional standards of counseling service and practice.
9. Participate in local, regional, or national conferences as offered by department Director and within parameters of departmental budget.
Required Education, Experience, Technology Applications and SkillsThe following are required:
1. Completion of Masters level counseling, social work, or related mental health profession.
2. Active (unrestricted) New York State license (or license-eligible within 1 year)..
3. Completion of at least one year-long supervised masters-level internship in direct service provision (individual and/or group therapy utilizing evidence-based interventions).
4. Demonstrated commitment to cultural humility, possessing the ability and skills to work with students with marginalized identities, including but not limited to differences in race, sexual or gender orientation, age, country of origin, religious affiliation, physical ability, etc.
5. English language proficiency.
6. Ability to maintain confidentiality consistent with applicable NYS laws and regulations.
7. Flexibility to work one evening per week, and attend occasional evening events as needed.
8. Ability to successfully manage interpersonal working relationships. As appropriate, collaborate with staff in other units and divisions to achieve the goals of the College.
9. Exceptional organizational skills and be able to attend to and prioritize projects.
10. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Education, Experience, Technology Applications and Skills1. Five (5) years’ experience providing individual and/or group counseling to a population analogous to that served by Health & Counseling.
2. Prior experience working in Higher Education.
3. Interest and experience providing clinical services and outreach programming to students representing a range of racial and ethnic identities
4. Interest and experience building relationships with student groups representing a variety of racial and ethnic identities.
5. Demonstrated commitment to supporting, empowering and retaining students from underrepresented groups.
6. Experience working within an Electronic Medical Record system.
Supervisory ResponsibilitiesMay be asked to contribute to intern supervision as needed.
Physical RequirementsMust be able to work in a typical office environment.
