JOB FAMILY SUMMARY PURPOSE:


Under the general supervision of the Vice President of Sustainability and Energy Solutions, the Manager of Renewable Generation Projects will assume project development responsibilities from initial concept definition to construction and final commissioning. This position demands continuous coordination with diverse project stakeholders such as environmental, procurement, transmission, and distribution services and project managers throughout the development lifecycle. A successful candidate will have experience balancing reliability, cost, and performance for complex systems, along with a thorough knowledge of the various applicable engineering disciplines. This is a working manager, team-oriented position in which you will provide creative solutions to conventional utility challenges with a future-forward mentality.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree in Management, Engineering, Business, or other relevant discipline

EXPERIENCE:

5 years or more of experience is required.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Proven successful project development experience demonstrated by the successful delivery of renewable energy projects
  • Five (5) years of experience in the management of renewable energy development and storage projects or related experience with project development and Engineering, Procurement, Construction (EPC) contracts
  • Thorough knowledge of solar, electrical, and/or building industry codes and construction practices
  • Experience in the electric utility sector with an emphasis on the design, construction, and operations of solar resources
  • Extensive network of regional and industry contacts.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple priorities, people, and business relationships.
  • Excellent verbal, written, technical, and computer communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to maintain a strong sense of propriety concerning confidential matters.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Oversee all phases of planned work, validate acceptance of completed work to design requirements, and review contractor payment requests
  • Verify constructability, ensure proper resource allocation, assesses field status, and resolve issues as needed
  • Assess productivity, schedule compliance, work quality, and safety performance on assigned projects
  • Coordinate project activities with vendors, suppliers, regulatory agencies, local community officials, and the company
  • Lead scope of work, budget oversight, resolution of technical issues, performance reporting, scheduling, and work-in-progress
  • Interface with landowners, local regulators, and state agencies
  • Coordinate activities or groups such as safety programs, engineering, construction, budget, analysis, and contract administration
  • Lead and mentor junior team members in all aspects of project development
  • Work independently and well as collaboratively within a team and provide open and effective communication with internal and external customers.
  • Assist with enforcement of and compliance with all applicable Company policies, procedures, and code of ethics as well as all applicable governmental laws and regulations to include employment, safety, and environmental standards and regulations.
  • Perform other related tasks that are not included but are within the context of the duties defined.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • The incumbents in this are not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions; primary work environment is typically of an office or administrative nature.
  • May work non-standard and extra hours
  • May require travel to Company work sites.
  • May require out-of-town travel.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
