We are hiring IMMEDIATELY for a Mobile Crisis Counselor to join one of our community mental health providers!
SUMMARY: Provides a wide variety of community-based services. Services may be provided in clinic, over the phone, or in the community with people who are experiencing mental health and substance use crisis situations. The Crisis Clinician provides rapid risk assessment, triage, de-escalation and short-term stabilization services.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Mental Health Crisis assessment including evaluation of risk and initiation of involuntary transport to hospital (Director’s Custody) as needed
- Short-term crisis stabilization counseling
- Short term case management/advocacy for resource linkages
- Behavioral Health Liaison to law enforcement organizations
- Consultation and coaching with staff in crisis situations
- Coordination of care and discharge planning with hospitals and jails
- Prompt completion of all clinical documentation
- Trained to carry and administer Naloxone (overdose reversal medication)
- After-hours on call rotation (as needed)
- Attend all required meetings
- Other duties as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position supervises no other position and is directly supervised by the Clinical Supervisor. All programs/staff are ultimately responsible to the agency Executive Director.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Master’s Degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work or related behavioral health field from an accredited college/university; QMHP credential from either the Mental Health And Addiction Certification Board of Oregon (MHACBO) OR active license or license internship via an eligible state licensing board;
- Minimum one year post-master’s degree experience in direct service BH field including assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and case management for individuals experiencing mental illness and substance use disorder, utilizing DSM-V and ASAM criteria;
- Combination of education/experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties outlined for this position may be considered.
