The National Account Executive contributes to the achievement of short and long-term department/corporate goals, including increasing revenues by renewing and increasing the penetration of the appropriate products and services of Premera Blue Cross and its subsidiaries to assigned existing accounts located within the assigned market. The Account Executive drives the renewal activities and programs at the most significant accounts of Premera or subsidiary companies. The National Account Executive is responsible for activities and programs that support the management of assigned accounts including issue resolution and consulting for benefit design or new programs or services. Prepares account-specific renewal strategies including product options, service enhancements, financial aspects, and business opportunities at assigned accounts. Serves as a negotiating liaison between internal and external parties, sell additional lines to existing customers, arrange to provide servicing, and resolve issues and concerns for assigned accounts, and provide educational information to client, business, and channel partners.
What you will do:
- Renews and retains the business of assigned accounts. Drive the renewal strategy, activities, and programs at the most significant accounts of Premera or subsidiary companies.
- Drive the business analysis, benefit design strategy, customer experience activities, and programs at the assigned accounts of Premera or subsidiary companies.
- Prospect and sell additional products and/or services of Premera Blue Cross and/or its subsidiaries to existing accounts.
- Prepare account-specific renewal strategy and service plans to renew accounts on a sound financial basis.
- Effectively recommend changes in response to renewal action or market demands, and that is consistent with the administrative capabilities of the organization.
- Collects and analyzes relevant data to prepare, implement and monitor sales and renewal plans for assigned territories and/or clients. Use data to recommend solutions.
- Coordinate with internal Departments to resolve problems and provide service.
- Educate accounts, business, and channel partners regarding account's financial aspects and options for renewing.
- Cultivates excellent working relationships with assigned accounts, business, and channel partners.
- Participate in directing and training sales support staff and coordinate with internal departments to assure that appropriate service is provided to assigned accounts.
- Conduct employee enrollment meetings and develop appropriate communications strategies.
- Review on a monthly/quarterly basis the appropriate data on assigned accounts to retain and maximize profitability and growth.
- Direct the work of sales support staff to complete special projects as assigned.
- Represent Premera as a community leader through various organizations and activities throughout Washington.
- Complete special projects as assigned.
- Perform other duties as required or assigned.
What you will bring:
- Bachelor’s degree or four (4) years of work experience (Required).
- Six (6) years of sales experience and/or sales-related experience, or comparable benefit administration experience in a large group (Required).
- Current agent's license or ability to obtain agent's license within 60 days of employment (Required).
- Strong work ethic and a can-do attitude (Required).
- BS/BA degree.
- Ability to multitask, managing operations and sales activities congruently.
- Skilled in methods to build and maintain strong business relationships with customers.
