SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Chief of Clinical Services, the Nuclear Medicine Technician is responsible performing nuclear medicine procedures. Participates in a team environment to include open communication, trust, accountability and mutual respect.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Minimum requirements include:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of accredited nuclear medicine technician training program. Registered by ARRT, NMTCB and a state license.
- Knowledge of nuclear medicine technical principles, policies, and procedures, patient safety procedures, and quality care standard.
- Minimum one year of experience in nuclear medicine. Maintain continued education credits as per standards of ARRT.
- Proficient in MS Office preferably in Excel and Word; ability to work with limited supervision; possess strong verbal communication skills, good organization skills and attention to detail.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Duties include the following, but are not limited to)
- Prepares and injects radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic imaging procedures
- Processes diagnostic imaging procedures and records radiopharmaceutical administration to patient.
- Receives and records appropriate information regarding receipt of radioactive materials and pharmaceuticals.
- Performs quality assurance procedures on the equipment on a daily basis including daily/weekly surveys, wipe testing procedures as required.
- Ensures compliance with the radioactive materials licensure requirements.
