Office Support Assistant, Testing Center


Job Summary
The Office Support Assistant works as a key member of the Testing Center team and reports to the Testing Center Coordinator. This position is responsible for assisting with daily operations in the Testing Center with a primary focus on providing secure exam delivery and superior customer service in a comfortable friendly environment.

Typical hours are 8:00am to 4:30pm with an hour lunch Tuesday–Friday; 6:30am -1:30pm on Saturday. Flexibility is a must as the work schedule may need to be adjusted depending upon the operational needs of the Testing Center. Candidate must pass a background check and must complete IRS background check
and processing.

Duties & Responsibilities

Test Administration (80%)

  • Assist with the administration of all exams to include proctoring, check-in/check-out procedures, and daily opening and closing procedures
  • Serve as Lead Testing Center Administrator on Saturdays
  • Assist with preparation of daily paperwork necessary to process test takers for the next day

Operations / Office Support (20%)

  • Serve as receptionist and provide general information to clients when needed
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and safe Testing Center
  • Assist with scheduling PSI (Proctor Services for Individuals) appointments
  • Provide administrative support to Testing Center Coordinator


Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Any one or combination totaling six (6) months from the categories below:
    • College coursework in any curriculum as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:
      • 15 semester hours equals six (6) months
    • Work experience performing office/clerical activities, including use of computer systems.

Preferred Qualifications
Two years of work experience; Customer service experience; Experience working with college students; Experience proctoring in-person or computer-based exams; Experience in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).

Appointment Information

This is a 100% full-time Civil Service 0845 - Office Support Assistant position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after 4/3/2023.
