JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Enters, edits and approves entries for university online calendars, and assists departmental users of the university calendar.
- Helps create, proofread, test and send email newsletters.
- Configures, compiles, and interprets analytics reporting for university websites, newsletters, and videos.
- Provides consultation and training to Communications & Marketing staff on new technology and web developments, including best practices in web usability, writing for the web and online newsrooms, and optimization of content for online audiences and search engines.
- Writes and manages content and design for publications, press releases, web articles, blogs or other Internet postings.
- Collaborates with colleagues to create and maintain a dynamic online communications platform that increases public awareness and support of Emory business units and their strategic priorities.
- Utilizes technical expertise to take part in the management of all aspects of producing online publications, from the creation and editing of stories to the presentation of multimedia content.
- Utilizes technical expertise to take part in the distribution of content across multiple platforms, which may include various forms of social media.
- Coordinates and monitors online statistics, launches new web products, and develops ways to increase user activity.
- Performs related responsibilities as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- A bachelor's degree in journalism, communications or related field and two years of writing, social media or related experience OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Excellent writing and editing skills, image editing experience and knowledge of HTML and CSS. Knowledge of Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Microsoft Office, and Cascade Server desirable.
NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs. Schedule is based on agreed upon guidelines of department of work. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
