Position Statement

The Head Varsity Track and Field Coach is responsible for coaching student-athletes in track and field events to prepare them for athletic competition. The Coach will work cooperatively with all personnel in maintaining a quality program

Responsibilities of a Head Varsity Volleyball Coach:

• Coordinate all aspects of the sport, including practice plans, meet management, and skill-building

• Consult on or handle parent and player concerns

• Manage uniform and team equipment needs

• Answer questions and provide information to parents on clinic and camp opportunities

• Post meet results to the website and manage team webpage

• Communicate with parents and players using Team Snap

• Complete coaching principles class if not completed in prior years of coaching

• Complete all annual certifications such as Concussion, Heat Illness, and Sudden Cardiac Arrest

• Mentor and consult other track coaches and MS coaches on practice content, and systems.

• Provide support to athletes with college aspirations and respond to college-related inquiries

• Perform other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities

• Supervise Assistant Coaches

Qualifications:

• Coaching experience with a high school/competitive team and/or college playing experience

• A positive, upbeat coaching style

• Thorough knowledge of the rules, regulations, strategies and techniques of the sport

• Experience working in a K-12 School preferred

• Or combination of equivalent experience, education and training

Skills and Functions

• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school administrators, parents and students

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

• Ability to supervise assistant coaches

• Ability to participate in physically demanding athletic activities

• Ability to travel (possibly driving) off-campus for athletic competitions using school-provided vans.

• Ability to stand for extended periods of time

• Adheres to the highest level of professionalism by demonstrating honesty, integrity and maturity

Compensation:

This position is nonexempt, which is eligible for paid overtime in accordance with applicable state and federal law. The position pays $25.00 per hour with a minimum total expected of $5000.00 per the Track and Field Season (Feb 7, 2023 - May 23, 2023).
