Title: Phlebotomist

Location: North Providence, RI

Job Type: 13-week contract

Start Date: ASAP

Shifts: Night 5x8-Hour (23:00 - 07:00)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Phlebotomist to join our healthcare team. The Phlebotomist will be responsible for collecting blood samples from patients, ensuring the samples are properly labeled, and transporting them to the laboratory for analysis. The successful candidate will have a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collect blood samples from patients using venipuncture or capillary puncture techniques • Verify patient identity and ensure the sample is properly labeled

• Follow infection control and safety protocols to prevent contamination or infection

• Ensure timely delivery of samples to the laboratory for testing

• Maintain accurate records of patient information and sample collection

• Provide excellent customer service to patients and healthcare providers

• Maintain a clean and organized work area

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required

• Completion of an accredited phlebotomy training program or equivalent experience

• Current certification as a phlebotomist (CPT) preferred

• Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy

• Ability to use computer software for record-keeping and communication

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

• Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and bend or reach as needed

• Willingness to adhere to all safety and infection control protocols

Certification:

· BLS (AHA)

· Rhode Island State License

· Covid-19 Vaccination with flu vaccination

· Phlebotomy certificate
