Portfolio Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Manager

SUMMARY

Key responsibilities for this position include compiling and performing financial analysis, developing, forecasting and financial planning process for a portfolio of properties.

CLASSIFICATION
The position is a full time, regular, exempt position.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
The position reports directly to the Senior Manager, FP&A.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Leads the property budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning process for the portfolio of properties
  • Leads and guides the financial analysis, modeling, reforecasting, and reporting for the portfolio of properties
  • Engage in and manage components of the portfolio’s debt and lender reporting
  • Lead and perform property cash flow forecasting by aggregating information and presenting notable findings to internal stakeholders
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to inform cash planning for property capital projects
  • Work closely with Asset Managers to compile ad-hoc analysis and reporting requests from various investment partners
  • Integrate with all stakeholders of the business to achieve a streamlined and effective process for budgeting and forecasting.
  • Work closely with Asset Management, Construction Management, Property Accounting to corroborate monthly property financial results and reforecasts
  • Review property's financial and operational performance to identify and communicate insights, findings, issues etc.
  • Identify and address process improvement opportunities
  • Document and communicate key deliverables for the purposes of lender reporting
  • Support team with ad-hoc special projects, business analyses, etc.
  • Support preparation of presentations and reporting to the Company’s Executives and other stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with departments to support cross-functional tasks and enhance processes.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, and/or Real Estate.
  • CFA and/or CPA designations are preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in a real estate, finance and/or FP&A manager role.
  • Experience in the commercial real estate, residential real estate, or property management sectors is required.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, including building models, data analysis, dashboards etc.
  • A strong analytical thought process with sound judgement and a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to be a self-starter and work effectively in a small team and contribute to areas beyond the direct scope of responsibility.
  • Experience with Yardi Voyager and other Business Intelligence (BI) tools is an asset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must have strong project management skills, including the ability to multitask and prioritize.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills. Ability to allocate one's time effectively, work under pressure, and manage tight deadlines.
