Current Media Group has an opening for a Production Maintenance Technician in the Facilities Maintenance Department. The pay range for the position is $18.00 - $25.00 depending upon experience. This individual will work Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm. Shifts may vary with business needs. Evening shift hours will apply during busy season. This is an hourly, regular full-time position with benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401k, Life, AD&D, EAP, HSA, FSA, PTO, STD, and LTD. Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair production equipment.
- Perform effective and efficient, preventive maintenance as well as electrical and mechanical repairs.
- Read and understand technical manuals, diagrams, drawings, and schematics used on all equipment.
- Properly operate all types of test equipment tools associated with the troubleshooting and repair of machinery and complete all paperwork and forms according to record keeping procedures and manager direction.
- Comply with all appropriate safety precautions and procedures for the equipment in the maintenance area of responsibility.
- Provide a professional approach and positive attitude when dealing with problems and procedures.
- Must be able to work:
- in a team environment and develop good communication skills to interface with equipment operators, managers, and other maintenance personnel.
- with and assist co-workers in learning different types of technical repair whenever possible.
- safely under tight time constraints to repair breakdowns and minimize downtime.
- overtime as production requirements change; be able to respond to emergency calls day or night; be available on an on-call basis.
- in confined and unusual locations that are typical to a manufacturing/shop environment.
- Learn:
- New equipment and develop new ideas in a relatively short period of time.
- Proper procedures in the handling and disposal of chemicals as directed by company policies and manufacturer supplied MSDS forms.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of at least 5 years of work experience in the maintenance and repair of mechanical and electronic equipment, or an equivalent period of relevant technical trade schooling.
- Experience with copy machines, laser printers, and other printing equipment is preferred.
- Read and understand complex schematics, drawings, and technical references.
- Good communication skills.
- Knowledge of electro-mechanical relay-controlled systems, gear devices, cam driven sequencers, electro-magnetic clutches, pumps, contractors, and pneumatics.
- High level of manual dexterity and coordination.
- Must be able to lift weights of up to 50 lbs.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools/test instruments and have a demonstrable knowledge of mechanics, electricity, hydraulics, pneumatics, and related equipment and systems.
