The Production Supervisor is responsible for all activities in the related production department(s) on 2nd shift. Departments may include one or more areas such as production, packaging, and sanitation. Provides direct supervision of team members for scheduling, training, performance and discipline
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Provide feedback to Production Manager, Quality Manager, and Plant Manager

• Identify and implement cost savings, improvement, and safety measure to boost overall performance and proficiency

• Create, schedule, print & release, issue materials, and complete all work orders on a daily and weekly basis utilizing ERP system

• Coordinate with other department managers on order fulfillment of all orders

• Direct work and schedule team members according to production plan

• Responsible for interviewing, hiring, training, planning and scheduling, conducting performance reviews, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolving issues

• Ensure key performance indicators (KPI’s), daily performance targets, reporting metrics, and variance thresholds are met or exceeded, and drive for accountability and solutions when they are not.

• Develop and communicate goals and required actions at regularly held shift meetings, and cascade vital operational information to other groups and/or shifts

• Troubleshoot basic problems with equipment

• Administer time and attendance system; record and monitor vacation, absences and occurrences

• Attend staff and department meetings

• Actively participate on EOE Teams that improve workplace safety, reduce waste and improve factory efficiencies

• Performs all other duties as assigned

• Report any and all injuries to your supervisor or manager at the time of injury.

• Complete all required training in a timely manner

• Adhere to ERU food safety policies and all government food safety and sanitation regulations (ex. FDA, HACCP, GMP, OSHA)

• May also perform some of the essential duties and responsibilities of the team members within the department

Qualifications/Minimum Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED; some college preferred

• 1-2 years experience in a manufacturing environment; food industry preferred

• Proven ability to lead and/or supervise teams

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and percentages

• Intermediate computer skills including e-mail, word processing, and spreadsheets

• Experience utilizing an ERP system; JD Edwards helpful

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work with automated equipment

• Ability to multi-task and prioritize under pressure

• Ability to work in cross-functional teams

• History of good attendance

• Good organization and problem-solving skills

• Detail-oriented nature

• Ability to work under minimal supervision
