We are seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer (PariMAX) who will be responsible for providing support in functional areas such as developing and executing exploratory and automated tests to ensure product quality. This position is responsible for designing and implementing tests, debugging, and defining corrective actions. The role is responsible for reviewing system requirements, designs test cases, test programs in a programming language or languages, automated scripts and tracks quality assurance metrics (e.g. defect densities and open defect counts.) The position monitors all stages of software development to identify and resolve system malfunctions to meet quality standards. The role is responsible for utilizing the internet and other resources to research and implement modern approaches to test case development, test plan design, and analyzing software at the code level to build quality artifacts necessary for business operations, including automated software tests, autonomously with moderate instruction or guidance is expected for this role.

BASE WORK LOCATION: Position is based at the Hunt Valley, MD location on-site. Position can be Remote Work. 05/01/23

• Serves as the quality expert and enforces quality assurance/control processes and procedures as an embedded test engineer on a cross-functional product team.
• Creates detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans for Web Services, Service Gateways, Reverse Proxy Systems, etc. (predominately for C# RESTful API’s).
• Vets designs for interoperability and compliance pre-development; systems supported integrate with multiple, proprietary protocols and have strict error rate and quality of service requirements.
• Estimates, prioritizes, plans and coordinates testing activities, including assisting the team with development estimates and release cadence.
• Designs, develops and executes automated test suites (acceptance, performance, regression, load, compliance, security, and other suites) for web endpoints.
• Identifies, records, documents and tracks bugs from inception through fix release.
• Liaises with internal teams (e.g. designers, product managers, other product engineering teams) to identify new system requirements in addition to vetting user stories during design/prototyping.
• Debugs production issues and reproduces said issues in staging/pre-production environments.
• Tracks quality assurance metrics (like feature test coverage, open defect counts, production error rates, etc.).
• Stays up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree in related field
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in QA
• Demonstrated experience testing RESTful API’s, web gateways, and web services.
• General knowledge of the TCP/IP stack and networking protocols
• Possesses an unrelenting attention to detail and best in class communication skills.
• Demonstrates a “test to break” mentality; usability, security, stability and compatibility are guiding principles for the development team.
• Demonstrated and proven work experience in software quality assurance, specifically automated test development for end-end system tests.
• Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools and processes.
• Experience in writing clear, concise and comprehensive test plans and test cases.
• Experience with white/clear/black box testing.
• Experience working in an AGILE development process.
• Experience with hardware or firmware compliance testing (ESD, hardware connectors, motherboard configuration/BIOS etc.)
• Possesses a positive, collaborative, and forward-thinking attitude; improve the status quo via quality standards

Preferred Experience:

• Experience with C based applications and/or proprietary protocols.
• Experience developing and debugging C# applications.
• Experience testing web application front ends/websites through backend services in an end-end fashion.
• Experience with automation paradigms for web applications (JEST, Selenium, Cucumber, Typescript, WATIR, or similar).
• Experience with Microsoft products for source control and test management a plus (Azure Devops/TFS, or similar).
• Experience with Microsoft Azure, Amazon AWS, and/or Google Cloud a plus.
• Experience security auditing or penetration testing C based systems.
• Game industry experience a large plus.
