Role Description

The Quantitative Analyst will assist in the daily operations of the structured segments offered in Structured Capital Strategies (SCS), Equivest (TSA), Investment Edge (IE), Variable Annuity (SCS Income), Indexed Universal Life (IUL) and Market Stabilizer Option (MSO) offered in Variable Life products, including liability valuation, particularly equity option pricing, and PnL calculation as well as ad-hoc analysis such as cap setting and new product development.

Opportunities include:

Exposure to Business Senior Management, Product Development, and other leaders within Actuarial, and Finance and positively impact product design and various initiatives

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Design and implement new structured segment payout
  • Compute the segment value, and determine the cap for each segment
  • Work closely with Hedging/Investment team to ensure investment targets are achieved.
  • Calculate monthly reserve on structured segment
  • Enhance current process and assist in ad-hoc analysis
Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Mathematics and/or Actuarial Sciences with a minimum of a ASA Designation OR Masters Degree in Financial Engineering required
  • 2+ years experience in quantitative analysis
  • Hands-on experience in complex spreadsheets and proficient in Excel VBA
  • Programming experience in Python, C++ or similar language
  • Familiar with European options, binary options, and Black Scholes model
  • Knowledge of annuity products
  • Established quantitative, problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Self-starting and detail-oriented with strong organization skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a demanding environment
  • Familiar with Exotic options such as Cliquet option and Stochastic models such as Heston model

Statistics and Actuarial Modeling: Knowledge of statistical and actuarial modeling tools and techniques; ability to apply modeling processes and techniques to facilitate risk management decisions.

The base salary range for this position is $80,000-$116,000. Actual base salaries vary based on skills, experience, and geographical location. In addition to base pay, Equitable provides compensation to reward performance with base salary increases, spot bonuses, and short-term incentive compensation opportunities. Eligibility for these programs depends on level and functional area of responsibility.
