Job Title: R&D Engineer

Summary/Scope of Role: Partner collaboratively with the sales and production teams to provide innovative solutions of the highest quality. Develop optimal product designs based on client needs while accounting for manufacturing quality, product quality and safety standards. Focus on optimizing internal production metrics (Quality, On time Delivery, Efficiency, Minimizing Waste). Improve Americase’s current technologies and develop innovations to elevate the organization's position in our industry and market.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Attend Client Meetings along with a sales representative to discover the needs/requirements of said client
- Collaborate with a sales representative to present the most complete and manufacturable solution to the estimating team
- Collaborate with the sales representative and the customer to design the ideal solution to solve the customer’s problem
- Propose possible future products to be evaluated for commercial viability
- Provide innovative solutions to problems in the current market that will lead to future commercially viable products
- Design Innovative solutions that are commercially viable considering costs, manufacturability, and marketability
- Collaborate with the lean team to improve lean initiatives and test viability
- Observe, report, and propose solutions to inefficient practices in the production system
- Suggest and test improvement in manufacturability
- Observe, report, and Propose solutions for process improvement
- Research new materials and processes
- Facilitate the Design and manufacturability of new opportunities as presented by the Sales Team
- Facilitate the “Idea to production” process of a new product line as presented by the R&D Team
- Work Collaboratively to solve internal and external problems of all sizes. Including but not limited to Lean initiatives, Gemba walks, manufacturing excellence, waste minimization (5 forms of waste)
- Work to continually improve the systems of manufacturing to increase efficiency and reduce quality issues.
- Constantly evaluate and question best practices in the design to manufacture system to increase productivity.

Required Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Programming, Design) OR 5 years relevant experience
- 3+ years relevant engineering experience (Mechanical engineering preferred)

- Must comply with and meet all pre-employment requisites, including but not limited to criminal background check prior to start date, and pre-employment and random drug testing in accordance with Company policy for the duration of employment.
