GEM Technologies, Inc. (GEM) is seeking a R&D Engineer to join our team. This position is full-time and will be located in Albuquerque, NM.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant STEM field and 8+ years of relevant experience; or Master’s in an Engineering, Science, or Physics field and 4+ more years' experience.
  • Background experience in semiconductor fabrication processes such as: Photolithography, Wet/dry etch, Ion Implantation, Yield, Integration, CMP, Thin films deposition, Metals, Metrology, etc. at an engineering level.
  • Micro-Electronics/Semiconductor manufacturing experience with dry etch/reactive ion plasma etching in both a research and development and production environments.
  • Programming/data retrieval experience would be beneficial.
  • Excellent interpersonal and teaming skills to develop positive relationships.
  • Ability to present data in a clear, concise way.

Uncleared - Must be able to obtain and maintain a Clearance

Overview:

  • Developing and integrating new micro-electronics dry etch processes for unique R&D and production technologies.
  • Routinely research new pathfinding science and engineering differentiating capability to invent innovative technology.
  • Solve complex problems alongside world renown professionals in many fields.
  • Make authoritative recommendations about process tools, capability and technology needed for critical National Security projects.
  • Support and sustain semiconductor manufacturing tools and processes that enable low-volume production and R&D for multiple customers.
  • Specify/order/install/characterize new process tools that enable new technology.

Clearance & Citizenship Requirement:

  • To be considered, you must be able to obtain and maintain a government issued clearance, if needed.
  • Due to the nature of the work, a U.S. Citizenship is required.

Desired Skills:

  • Knowledge of design of experiments, SPC, and semiconductor physics is desired.
  • PhD in Electrical/Chemical/Mechanical Engineering or Applied Science, preferred.
