Established and experienced professional working as a member of a research unit or project team. Acknowledged Scientist with formulation technology and laboratory scale up expertise for new product development. Skillful in working with own team and closely related work teams to provide a significant impact in solving complex scientific problems within R&D.
- Full responsibility for bench new formulation and development work, development and implementation of procedures and processes in the field of dispersion chemistry, formulation technology, and chemical/process engineering
- Plans experimental lab work by using a variety of experimental design.
- Collects, summarizes, analyses, and interprets complex data to make conclusions based on reproducible scientific data.
- Generate new/improved product Laboratory Process Packages (LPP) and support for Process R&D group to scale up for commercial production.
- Writes and reviews complex reports to ensure they are based on good science and able to make quality presentation to internal team and external parties.
- Inputs for decisions within own discipline by suggesting methodologies, equipment, and evaluation of different approaches to make a new product or modify an existing product.
- Demonstrates scientific/technical leadership at project level.
- Work closely with the relevant business/sales team to provide trouble shooting solutions.
- Anticipate, evaluate, and implement trends and innovations with expertise by collaboration with external partners, following scientific literature.
- Does all according to strict safety procedures and guidelines, providing and adhering to SOPs and JSAs relevant to lab practices.
- Ph.D, or M.S in Organic Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Analytical Chemistry or Polymer Science. MS – 6 years in relevant experience; PhD – 3 years’ experience in relevant discipline.
- In-depth understanding of procedures and concepts and principles within chemical formulation and laboratory scale up.
- Good understanding on product application and microbiology related knowledge, as well as customers specific needs in using these products.
- Ability to conduct multiple projects in parallel.
- Demonstrates an openness to trying new approaches, encourages others to bring new ideas forward and brings new ideas for collaboration.
- Understands business opportunities for each project and prioritizes activity based on opportunity and milestone requirements.
- Communicates technical progress and success probabilities at project meetings.
- Actively addresses customer and market needs using data and research to enhance customer interaction and support profitable business opportunities.
- Helps the project teams to understand project data and execution to support customer needs and business unit strategy and objectives.
- Reduces complexity and suggests improvements to processes to provide impact to business results.
