Position: Recreation Assistant (Theater) Salary: $16.50

DUTIES
:

Performs a variety of duties in support of the Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) Theater. Assists manager with all daily operations including, but not limited to, managing daily and weekly staffing requirement, conducting weekly inventory counts, opening concession stand and selling tickets and concessions, marketing movies via email media, face to face and web-based encounters and conducts inventory. Provides information to patrons. Answers questions and attempts to resolve problems and provides management with information concerning customer complaints, price marketing issues, conditions of supplies and suspected employee or customer theft.


Responsible for accountability of monies and change fund and for computer data entry of all inventory sales and receipts. Ensures adequate supplies of bar codes, tickets, vouchers, discount cards and all other services or inventory maintained at the theater.


Provides administrative duties, all of which are accomplished through a variety of means, including computer software programs. Provides necessary administrative and business development for local community partners.


Performs related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
:

Minimum:

1. High school diploma or GED.

2. Experience in customer service, with working knowledge of retail sales and cashiering and

inventory control.

3. Knowledge of basic accounting and cash handling and general office practices.

4. Experience with Microsoft Programs Word, Excel, and Outlook


Preferred (in addition to the minimum):

1. Previous experience working in a theater or similar establishment.


OTHER ESSENTIAL INFORMATION
:

  • Selectee will be required to participate in Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer as the Standard method of payment for payroll and travel purposes.
  • Males born after 12/31/59 and at least 18 years of age must be registered with the Selective Service System, unless covered by an exemption under the Selective Service Law, in accordance with 5 U.S. Code 3378. Selectee will be required to provide a written statement regarding his registration status unless he is exempted by this statute.
  • Must satisfactorily complete a Federal Background check

1.Resided in the United States or its protectorate or territories (excluding short trips abroad, such as vacations);

2.Worked for the United States government as an employee overseas in a Federal or military capacity; or

3.Have been a dependent of a United States Federal or military employee serving overseas.
