A school psychologist is a professional who works within a school or educational setting to promote the well-being, academic achievement, and social-emotional development of students. Their job description may include:
- Conducting assessments: A school psychologist is responsible for administering assessments to evaluate the academic, behavioral, and emotional functioning of students. They use a range of tests, interviews, and observations to identify students who may need additional support or interventions.
- Developing and implementing interventions: Once a school psychologist has identified a student's needs, they work with teachers, parents, and other school staff to develop and implement individualized interventions. This may include academic support, social skills training, or counseling.
- Providing counseling: School psychologists often provide individual or group counseling to students who are experiencing emotional or behavioral difficulties. They may also provide support to students who have experienced trauma or other difficult life events.
- Consulting with teachers and parents: A school psychologist may consult with teachers and parents to provide guidance on how to support students who are struggling academically, socially, or emotionally.
- Conducting research: School psychologists may also conduct research to identify best practices for supporting student well-being and achievement.
- Participating in school-wide initiatives: School psychologists may participate in school-wide initiatives to promote positive school climate, prevent bullying, or improve student engagement.

PSYCH 23-24 school year (2 OPENINGS) - Ages K-12
- Will be working in 2-3 buildings
Candidate requirements- ONSITE ONLY
- Must have active Michigan school psychologist license.
- Thorough knowledge of IDEA/Article 7
Qualifications:
- School Psychologist State License or Endorsement in Educational Diagnosing
- Masters or Doctoral Degree - School Psychology
