School Psychologist

Job Description

The school psychologist will develop and provide a full range of comprehensive school psychological services to students, families, and schools in compliance with local, state, and federal laws. They will provide a broad range of services to meet the academic and mental health needs of students in the school/district to which they are assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Candidates must have at minimum a Masters Degree in School Psychology and hold a valid Ohio Department of Education License.
  • Pass and maintain clear BCI and FBI background checks
  • Experience working with children grades K-8

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participate in response to intervention team processes/MTSS and consults with team members
  • Contributes to the psycho-educational evaluation and assessment for students to determine educational needs and eligibility for special education services
  • Summarize and interpret evaluation results and recommendations in written and verbal form in practical and understandable terms
  • When needed, provides counseling services within the scope of training to individuals or groups of students
  • May serve as a resource to districts and buildings in crisis situations
  • When requested, develops, implements, and evaluates professional development opportunities for staff and/or families within the district they serve
  • Maintains an adequate system of documentation and record keeping and meets deadlines for meetings, paperwork, and other responsibilities
  • Researches and makes recommendations for the use of evidence-based curricula in the classrooms
  • Develops and monitors systems designed to meet the needs of individual students, classrooms, and the school as a whole
  • Attends and participates in all required meetings including Wraparound Expert Team Meetings and School Staff Meetings as needed. Conducts regular quality assurance checks at the individual student, staff, and classroom to make recommendations for improvement
  • Ensures compliance with the Department of Education regulations and school's internal standards

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $47,039.61 - $98,608.01 per year

License/Certification:

  • Certified School Psychologist (Preferred)
