Job Summary
Seeking a seasoned HR Generalist with strong labor relations experience. Must also possess a high level of self-awareness, interpersonal skills and the ability to empathize with those around them. These traits are needed to quickly build credibility as a business partner. Guide BAMCO management team members on how to manage in union environment, inclusive of training. Partner with BAMCO management on how best to address, document opportunities for improvement as it relates to onsite HR/LR matters.
- A Bachelor’s degree is required; Human Resources with a focus on Labor Relations is preferred; advanced degree highly preferred (e.g., JD)
- 5+ years of Human Resources experience with a focus on LR in an academic setting also preferred
- Experience conducting effective & objective investigations and recommending the advisability of corrective action
- Experience with gathering information for grievances and/or arbitration
- Must have excellent communications skills and ability to build relationships
- Experienced with training operators strongly on how to manage in a union environment strongly preferred
- Experience in food, vending services, and support services a plus
- Current knowledge of HR compliance regulatory requirements and National Labor Relations Act rules and precedent
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Teams
- Self-starter, personally manages all documentation and processes in a timely manner without administrative support
- An understanding of co-employment within a contractual setting is preferred
- Assist in identifying and proposing changes to HR/LR strategies to best support BAMCO management
- Partners with HR and Operations in educating BAMCO associates on all organized labor issues; review, interpret and make recommendations on company/and or client policies and procedures with respect to HR/LR issues; serve as an organizational resource in raising issues that may result in a gap between stated organizational goals and actual practice
- Train operational management to comply with client’s labor agreements and/or rules; works actively to avoid unnecessary operational labor grievances as it relates to BAMCO management
- All other duties as assigned
