About the Role
This is a Senior Software Engineer position where we are looking for someone who is passionate about continuous delivery, virtualization, and Kubernetes. The ideal candidate will have software engineering expertise and experience in introducing concepts that permit fast, confident, iterative releases of software in a high-scale environment. You will work directly with software developers to make release architectural design decisions focused upon performance, scalability, quality, and opportunity cost. You will drive the evolution of development processes and tools towards continuous delivery and essential release tasks. You will also inspire and mentor software developers. Our engineers are smart, flexible, and love solving difficult challenges. They look to their leadership for clarity, support, career development, and honest feedback.
You will be joining an experienced group of over 200 engineers dedicated to shipping high-quality software as fast as possible. We are passionate about maintaining a positive, collaborative culture - one where everyone has an opportunity to grow, challenge themselves, and make great things happen.
What You'll Do
- Accelerate the success of the organization by leading people, CI & CD processes, and projects
- Drive multiple technical projects to completion in various areas of our system
- Work with staff members directly on career development and enable personal growth through project deliverables
- Conduct code reviews and provide feedback on design decisions
- Drive evolution of quality initiatives through automation
- Evolve development processes and tools to optimize team productivity
- Drive the vision for continuous delivery
- When travel conditions re-open and are considered safe, international travel required approximately 2-4 weeks a year
What We're Looking For
Skills
- 3-7+ years of full-stack development preferably in a startup engineering environment using various programming languages
- 1-3+ years of K8s design and administration. This includes:
- Kubernetes control plane, CNI, Security and Compliance
- Kubernetes workload management - Load balancers, auto scaling, deployments
- Kubernetes cluster management - Helm, Rancher, K8s Infrastructure on Azure
- Kubernetes Observability - Container IQ, Dynatrace, Prometheus, Custom metrics and dashboards
- 1-3+ years of large-scale software and/or webservices deployment
- Experience working with cross functional teams (product, analytics, business leaders)
- Delivered multiple software projects simultaneously, with high quality and timely execution
- Experience with high load websites, large datasets, and both functional and code complexity
- Decent understanding of Linux, networking, DNS, git
- A clear, concise, and candid communicator, able to promote discussion between team members
- Passionate about making an impact in product, business, and technical innovation
- Comfortable making decisions in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with ambiguities
- Experienced in building and maintaining virtualization and kubernetes cluster infrastructures
- A champion for Test Driven development and testable code
- Able to deliver high performing, scalable applications

Work Environment
JustAnswer US has adopted a remote-first/full-remote work environment from most US-based locations. Some teams do occasionally have the option to meet in-person for teaming, collaboration, or social events. With employee wellbeing as a top priority, where legally permissible, employees are required to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 to attend these optional in-person events.
