Aviate is United Airlines, Inc.’s pilot career development program offering both aspiring flight students and commercial pilots a defined career path to potential employment as a First Officer with United.

The Aviate Team is currently seeking an individual who is passionate about essential communications and multi-channel marketing. Have an entrepreneurial mind, is a strong communicator, and excels in a fast-paced environment. You have the foundational and strategic understanding of integrated marketing and how the elements of a marketing plan work together for maximum impact. You will apply your project management, creative, relationship-building skills to support the Manager of Aviate Marketing & Communications and Director of Aviate & Pilot Strategy. As the Senior Specialist – Aviate Marketing & Communications, you will help develop, complete, and implement compelling, multichannel content for the Aviate audience, partners, and internal customers. You are skilled in event coordination and can thrive in high pressure situations. The Senior Specialist – Aviate Marketing and Communications will develop, lead, and implement Aviate communications, branding, marketing, public relations, and social media strategies
- Support Aviate communications and marketing strategy passionate about growth, retention, and engagement with online communities through development, planning, and execution
- Generate and implement communications between United/Aviate and the Aviate partner organizations
- Support Aviate partner social media
- Develop marketing materials and assets to support the Aviate recruiting efforts
- Support Aviate social media through the creation of materials and online engagement
- Work cross-functionally with Creative Services to maintain regular service related to our digital platforms (website), such as website updates, maintenance, and improvements
- Evaluate current digital content gaps and opportunities to improve brand recognition of Aviate and communication lags
- Collaborate with United marketing resources and associated groups/leadership within United to develop Aviate marketing programs, initiatives, and materials
- Aid in event coordination for internal and external Aviate informational, recruiting, and sponsored events
- Stay informed and educated on the latest Aviate program updates, evolving industry behavior, and United specific guidelines
- Think creatively, stay up-to-date on relevant trends in digital, social media, and email marketing
- Maintain marketing and communications approval process that includes all vital partners, including but not limited to Aviate leadership, Marketing, Corp Comms, Branding, and Social Media
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the Manager of Aviate Marketing & Communications, and Director Aviate and Pilot Strategy

Qualifications
What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree in marketing or an equivalent, relevant field
- 3+ years experience, of which at least 1 year is related to this role i.e., professional marketing and/or communications, social media marketing, content creation
- Organization skills and multitasking abilities
- Excellent presentation skills
- Excellent verbal and written (AP style) communication skills
- Consistent track record implementing multi-layered marketing plans
- Knowledge of Sales and Marketing processes
- Legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
- Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
- Reliable, punctual attendance is a crucial function of the position
What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experienced with marketing automation best practices and digital platforms such as Constant Contact, Google Analytics, Instagram Professional Dashboard (or social media reporting equivalent)
- Strong project management skills - experience prioritizing projects/tasks, establishing timelines, as well as collaborating with and receiving approval from multiple stakeholders
- Ability to excel under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage working through multiple projects simultaneously
- Social media savvy with user generated content, community management and content planning
- Copywriting for digital communications (e-blasts, newsletters, invitations, etc.), web and blog (SEO), and print media (flyers, profile sheets, brochures, banners, etc.)
- Experience creating digital assets with a creative platform like Canva or Adobe products
- Development of marketing toolkits to support likeminded groups/partners for brand consistency
- Salesforce experience is a plus
- Agency experience is a plus
- Knowledgeable of the U.S. business, social media, and aviation landscape
