This position is for an established Systems Engineering professional. Join the Mission Systems Tactical Communication Systems Department and help shape communication solutions for militaries around the world! As a Systems Engineering professional, you will design and develop military software-defined radio products covering all spectrum bands. You will play an integral role in developing the next generation of both networking and non-networking software defined radio waveforms for existing and new communication platforms. We are looking for Systems Engineers who are interested in experiencing all elements of the communication design process including system-level trades, requirements development, communication system architecture and design, performance assessment, integration and test, verification, validation, and sustainment of fielded products.

Successful candidates are expected to perform the following as part of a team of systems engineers:

Primary Responsibilities:

• Design at all levels of the total system product including concept, design, fabrication, modeling, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal.
• Direct customer support for installation and integration of radio products deployed on airborne and ground-based platforms around the world.
• Capturing customer requirements and operational concepts to be translated into a system architecture and design.
• Functional breakdowns, trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
• Decomposition of customer specifications and system level requirements into sub-system and piece part requirements, and develops verification criteria and plans for the requirements.
• Heading technical planning, system integration, and verification and validation events of total system solutions, while maintaining cost and schedule and balancing risks.
• Synthesis of collected data for inclusion in or prepares technical reports of findings and recommendations.
• Coaching and mentoring of peers, and communication and influence outside of immediate organization

Basic Qualifications:

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience

• Must be a U.S. Citizen

• Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Lean and/or Agile development methodologies
• Experience with tools such as DOORS, MATLAB, C++, or Python
• Experience with Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) concepts and tools (CAMEO) for developing architectures and functional analysis
• Communications or radio frequency engineering background
