Choptank Community Health System (CCHS) is searching for an experienced, ambitious health care professional who is hands-on, leads by example, and can motivate staff to deliver results that further the mission of the organization as Senior Vice President, Chief Operating Officer (SVP/COO).

Located in the heart of Maryland’s Mid-Shore region, CCHS provides primary health care services in Caroline, Dorchester, Kent, and Talbot counties. Maryland’s Eastern Shore enjoys the beautiful Chesapeake Bay setting, characterized by historic towns, meandering creeks, beautiful natural areas, Maryland Blue crabs, oysters and clams. Our Joint Commission Accredited health system includes seven family practice/pediatric health centers, five dental centers, over fifty medical and dental providers, school-based wellness and migrant health programs, for a total of 230 team members. Our mission is to provide access to exceptional, comprehensive, and integrated care for all.

Job Summary: The SVP/COO provides executive leadership, oversight, evaluation, and direction for CCHS Health Centers and Community Based Programs. The SVP/COO contributes to the successful achievement of the CCHS mission and strategic initiatives through the effective management and supervision of the operations team, consisting of Human Resources, CCHS Site Directors, Facilities, Community Based Program Director, and the Dental Program Director.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • A Master’s degree in business, public administration or healthcare administration or related field.
  • 5-10 years of progressive leadership experience in health care organizations, preferably community health centers.
  • Previous senior leadership experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of ambulatory care, hospital-based services and/or community health care center operations.
  • Regular, reliable attendance is a requirement of this job.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
