Job description

We have a need for an experienced injection molding Set Up Process Technician. The role of the Set Up Process Technician is to start production on horizontal injection molding machines and monitor process optimization and product quality of custom plastic parts, respecting objectives set in terms of Quality, Cost and Delivery.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Process troubleshooting of various types of thermoplastic injection molds, machines and resins to ensure efficient production of quality products;
• Troubleshoot molding process issues (flash, short-shots, sinks, splay, etc.) for maximum efficiency and minimum scrap levels;
• Maintain cavitation, cycle efficiency, achieve optimal processing parameters, drive cycle time improvements;
• Change settings on process controllers to regulate pressure, temperature, and speed and feed rates, and to set cycle times in order to ensure process optimization according to customer and machine specifications;
• Troubleshoot mold and machine problems, develop root cause and provide a permanent corrective action;
• Perform start up and shut down procedures;
• Complete daily production audits of set ups and material handling;
• Complete daily production paperwork;
• Maintain safe work environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00 - $27.00 per hour
