SUMMARY:

The CAD Designer generates 3D models and assemblies for moderate to complex product designs with basic to moderate engineering direction while considering the needs of other business areas such as manufacturing, material process and environmental impacts. The CAD Designer assists in developing product design solutions by providing input, thoughts, and ideas, while closely collaborating with product engineers. The CAD designer also assists in rapid prototyping to turn ideas into solutions.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist in developing product design solutions by providing input, ideas, and options based on preliminary product design intent.

Complete assignments of all complexities, converting the engineers’ preliminary product design ideas into working 3D CAD models and detailed 2D drawings while maintaining standards.

Accurately maintain the product information database.

Update Product Engineering documentation to accurately represent the red-line changes aligning to the corporate standards, procedures, and best practices.

Take appropriate action to resolve details not completely defined.

Identify and schedule deliverables, milestones, and required tasks required for projects and take corrective action to achieve timelines.

Develop physical prototype parts from CAD geometry.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

MUST HAVE QUALIFICATIONS:

2-year associates degree in engineering or technology with 3+ years experience preferred

Proficient 2D and 3D CAD modeling

Proven capabilities to troubleshoot problems with other technical employees, suppliers, and outside experts

Strong communications skills: written and verbal

NICE-TO-HAVE QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience in an engineering or research environment

5+ years experience in a related area of work

Ability to perform tolerance analysis for parts and assemblies

Demonstrates effective presentation skills

Working knowledge of basic design, analysis, and material characteristics used in developing parts and tooling

Profit Sharing

During 2022, each eligible Andersen employee will receive $1,000 for each full fiscal quarter they are actively employed and fully vaccinated against COVID-19. An eligible employee hired during a quarter will receive a prorated payment based on the number of days employed during the quarter. Those eligible include fully-vaccinated regular full-time and part-time employees (at least 20 hours per week) who are not subject to a collective bargaining agreement. These and other terms and conditions of Andersen’s 2022 Profit Sharing Plan, including the definition of full vaccination against COVID-19, are subject to change or termination without notice.

Pay: $58,000.00 - $87,000.00 per year
