The Vehicle Integration Sr. Vehicle Software Requirement/Evaluation Engineer is responsible to work with the engineering and program teams in the preparation and execution of the Software Requirements development at Vehicle Level from the Voice of the Customer perspective. You will report directly to the VI - Voice of the Customer Supervisor.

Responsibilities

  • Hands on vehicle expert for vehicle level software Voice of the Customer Evaluation.
  • Development of Vehicle Level Software Requirements in Polarion System.
  • Drive requirements definition from Voice if the Customer perspective.
  • Management of Requirements Database.
  • Benchmark of Software and Human-Machine Interface Features.
  • Vehicle Level Software Features and Targets Definition at Program Level.
  • Perform acceptance, HIL and vehicle testing, Triage and close defects.
  • Ensure that customer issues are identified, reported, and resolved prior to product launch.
  • Duties consist of supporting Engineering teams on root cause analysis, hands-on vehicle evaluations, application of diagnostic tools/equipment (if available), collecting and analyzing benchmarking data, reporting, and documenting issues, presenting information both written and verbal, participating in/facilitating meetings, directing drivers, mechanics, and technicians, along with competitive vehicle benchmarking.
  • Ensure test driving feedback is documented in a clear, concise, and timely manner.
  • Troubleshoot and support to resolve issues that arise during testing vehicle level.
  • Engage in subjective evaluation to identify system failure modes.
  • Drive prototype vehicles during certain tests.
  • Provide timely input and clarifications.
  • Track and inspire weekly progress.
  • Produce professional and traceable documentation, including software, electrical, mechanical, and fluid schematics of the vehicle system evaluated.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 5 years electronic control module development, and/or SW integration, and/or SW validation.
  • BS Electrical/Automotive SW/Mechanical Engineering required.
  • HMI background is a plus.
  • 2+ years software validation experience preferred.
  • 2+ years’ experience with vehicle evaluation, driving, preferred.
  • 2+ in vehicle integration and test track is a plus.
  • Knowledge of CAN, LIN, and Ethernet protocols.
  • A strong understanding of Automotive Software Systems.
  • Strong data analysis and reporting experience.
  • Excellent communication skills and team-oriented attitude
  • Prior experience with evaluation of automobiles desired.
  • Experience with Software Development and DVP&R a plus.
  • Problem solving mind set.
  • OEM and automotive experience preferred.
  • Experience with regulatory requirements is a plus.
  • Project management skills required.
  • Ability to collect and synthesize data into meaningful information and communicate clearly to all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to present information both written and verbal, participating in/facilitating meetings, directing supplier's drivers, mechanics, and technicians to meet deadlines and targets.

Preferred Skills

  • Hybrid or Electric Vehicle experience preferred.
  • Body Control Module release experience is a plus.
  • Experience with FMVSS requirements related to Software, and/or Infotainment and/or EE Modules preferred.
  • Web based tool development and workflow automation.
  • Automotive Software Program/Project management skills.
