Description:

4 South Searle is a 34-bed acute surgical telemetry step-down unit specializing in post-operative care of patients with procedures involving General Surgery, Hepatobiliary, Cardio-Vascular, Thoracic, Peripheral Vascular, Ventricular Assist Device, Bariatric, Plastic/Reconstructive, ENT, and Trauma. The unit operates 24-hours a day, 365 days out of the year catering to an adult and geriatric patient population.

The Staff Nurse will engage in relationship-based care providing holistic, patient-centered care to achieve healthy relationships in a safe, healing, caring environment enabling patients and family to equally partner in the multidisciplinary care provided.

What you will do:

• Independently provide safe, effective, and compassionate nursing care for a patient population on a specific unit
• Utilize the nursing process in planning, implementing, and evaluating the patient plan of care
• Guide and direct assigned unlicensed assistive personnel in delivering interdisciplinary patient care
• Communicate and collaborate with members of the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and continuity of care
• Positively contributing to safety outcomes and promoting high quality patient experience

What you will need:

• License: Current professional Nursing Licensure in the State of IL required
• Education: Graduate of a NLN accredited school of nursing required; BSN strongly preferred
• Certification: BLS/CPR certification required (American Heart Association BLS for the Healthcare Provider)
• Experience: 1 year of nursing experience in an office or hospital setting preferred
