Great opportunity with Daniel Consultants as the Structural Division Manager in our Columbia office. We are seeking someone with MDOT client experience (SHA, MDTA, and/or MTA) to grow our Structural Division and manage our current work load. As Division Manger you will pursue projects and provide oversight for design, analysis, and inspections of transportation structures including bridges, culverts, and retaining walls.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Specific responsibilities will include leading business development and proposal efforts; providing client contact, reviewing the design of transportation structures; reviewing load rating analyses; managing bridge safety inspections; reviewing cost estimates and specifications; tracking project budget and costs; and performing QA/QC on deliverables.
EXPERIENCE:
Professional Engineer in Maryland with a minimum of 10 years bridge experience. Proficiency in the design and analysis of bridges made from structural steel, and reinforced and prestressed concrete required. NBIS Bridge Inspector’s Course and Fracture Critical Member Inspection Course desired. Experience on design-build projects desired.
SKILLS
Must be knowledgeable and proficient in basic computer programs such as Microsoft Office. Must be knowledgeable in structural computer programs such as Merlin Dash, Conspan, DESCUS, RC Pier, STAAD, and L-Pile. Must be knowledgeable in various codes such as AASHTO, ACI, AISC, PCI, etc. Knowledge of Microstation preferred. Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
EDUCATION:
A minimum of a B.S. in Civil Engineering. M.S. in Civil Engineering preferred.
