Summary
The Student Helper will provide support in a laboratory setting while gaining professional experience. The candidate will learn and execute wet lab techniques relevant to genotyping, protein analysis, bacterial cloning and plasmid engineering, histology, and confocal imaging. Additionally, the candidate will be involved in data acquisition, analysis, and presentation.
Job Duties
- Assists with mouse tail clipping, PCR amplification of DNA, and gel electroporation.
- Assists with western blotting, mouse tail vein injections, and stereotactic brain injections.
- Learns to design and engineer (and scale) bacterial plasmids for packaging into AAVs.
- Assists with tissue sectioning, staining, mounting, and imaging.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be a High School or College Student (undergraduate or graduate).
- No experience required.
